Spring is finally here and tomorrow is Dock Day. We will be starting at 9:00 AM and work until complete. There will be donuts and coffee in the morning and soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch. Thanks to those who have already signed up and we always welcome those who have not signed up. We have experienced some storm damage over the winter and most of it has already been repaired.
One quick piece of housekeeping. Dues were due as of March 15 and if you have not yet paid your fees this will be your last communication and if you have anything in kayak storage you need to remove the items as that space will be offered to other members. All locks have been changed to the new code for 2026 and all facilities are operational.
A special thanks to Pat Shettle and Lorraine Wheeler who have stepped up to be boats managers for the club boats and will oversee that maintenance of those boats. Additionally thanks to Fred Feick and Yancy Carpenter who are taking over the ice program. The ice program will not start for a few weeks as demand will be low. You will also notice a new color for the day sailer launch crane thanks to Ben Melton. Finally a special thanks to Steve Scherschel, Mike Pace and Rick Holbrook who have done a lot of prep work that will make tomorrow much easier.
In the coming weeks we will be working on a new program which should improve our reservation process, improve our communication and make event notices more efficient. There will be other features that we will announce over time. Watch for notices as we move forward with this program.
