Merry Christmas and Happy End of 2020!!!

In light of covid-19 and the unknowns we still face as we begin 2021 the board is continuing to plan a more normal year and we have begun working on the details for coming year knowing that that some adjustments will be required. We will be posting a planned social calendar soon and we will begin sailing instruction in early April with on the water sessions starting as early as possible so that everyone has an opportunity to enjoy the summer. Watch the web site for postings and we will continue to send out emails with special information.

Membership for 2021 looks promising with the Osterman family returning after being gone for a while. We also have a new member that has joined but I am unable to share that information at this time since it is a Christmas present and I don’t want to leak the surprise. We also have several inquiries that are promising and hope to see those memberships materialize. The future looks bright.

If you have not been by the club recently the roof, gutter and soffet work is complete and the the clubhouse looks great. More importantly we have eliminated the potential for leaks and hopefully have resolved the flooding in the lower level with the new gutters. Mike Jackson has repaired the power cable on the hoist so that is ready for spring. We will be relocating the grounding cables near the hoist to make the launch area more accessible for dat sailers. Mike Pace has repaired a broken floorboard on the O’Day 17 club boat to make that ready for spring. We have a couple more repairs to do on the O’Day 17 but it will be ready for spring launch. By spring we should also have a bridle completed to make launching the O’Day easier.

January is just days away and it will be time to submit your membership for 2021. Remember that memberships need to be received by mid-March to secure your preferred slip assignments. We will be working on slip assignments immediately after March 15, 2021.

I want to thank those who have made this past sailing season successful through all their efforts and work around the club. It was a tough year but it was good in that we were able to sail and so many families were able to spend time at the club and in the beach area. Most of a big thank you to all those who put the docks in and took them out all in record time!

May you have a very merry and blessed Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.
