Happy New Year!
Christmas and New Years are already behind us, and we are less than 90 days until spring! In the coming weeks, we will begin working on plans for all the events and projects. Our social calendar is in the works and should be published shortly. Along with that, we will begin posting projects critical to maintaining our fleet and facilities. In a few weeks, we will begin training our boat managers who have volunteered to monitor the condition of the club boats. The goal is to keep the boats in good condition and ready for use. Planning for sail training is underway with a focus on getting new sailors on the water by June. Plans for our spring banquet are expected to be complete by the end of January so watch for updates. For those who are new, the spring banquet is a great social event where we reconnect with other members, but it is also the event where we detail what to expect in the upcoming season.
This year, the in-water slip fee has been increased from $500 to $560 despite our objections. We will continue to have discussions with the city to control the financial impact on our membership. After a review of our expenses for the upcoming year club dues will remain the same as all other club charges. Just as a reminder fees are due by March 15th to avoid late charges. We will be posting a list of used dock accessories that are available at a reduced price. The items will be available on a first come first served basis. The inventory will be sent to all members via email.
As we begin the new year, we will be looking for everyone to share their talents and knowledge to accomplish the social events and projects. Our social programs will be in need people to help organize and coordinate the social events. If you have a particular interest in working on social events please talk to Ali Szymanski. If you have mechanical, woodworking, electrical, fiberglassing or fabricating skills contact any board member so that we can best use your talents. Through the years the club has been able to keep our fees low through the use of everyone’s talents. How can you help?
Get ready for SPRING!
