Hey what’s up?

Saturday the 7th at 2:00pm

This Saturday there is a Jeep/Car/Bike/Boat event being put on by a local Jeep organization in Prairie Creek Park. In the past, at their request, we have flooded the lake with boats by sailing together or by a follow the leader turn by turn action while positioned around the reservoir beach area. We have had many favorable comments and great pictures from it. Anyone interested (or out sailing), plan to sail in that area at about 2:00 pm for 30 minutes or so. Just incorporate this into your normal sailing.

June 14th Open House/Community Outreach 10am – 12pm

As I indicated before, the Board has decided to have an open visitation opportunity for people interested in sailing. This will be held on June 14th from 10am to noon. We don’t know how many people will be coming but you should know that there will be some visitors on that day. Please be considerate, keep the parking lot as open as possible, and be aware we may have to close access to the gin pole for that short time period. The program will move guests from the club house to the dock house, to the beach area, and back to the parking lot.

June 14th Raft up 3:30

Get together with other members in a Raft up. Get organized at 3:30 at the dock house and then on the lake to do it at 4:00. Boats are tied together side by side (be sure to have fenders) and who knows what may happen. Bring a treat or surprise for others that may raft up. It it’s windy and you can’t raft up, have a great sail anyway.

Dock Accessories

As you know, many members have dock accessories that they have purchased. If you want some, read on. Accessories must be purchased through the club and are managed by the Harbormaster team. This assures that only approved items are allowed, that they are installed correctly, and used appropriately. If you leave, you can take them, sell them to another member, or donate them back to the club. By ordering through the club, you’ll get about a 30% discount vs retail. The most common accessories are: gusset – the triangle corner piece between your slip and the main dock, a Tridock – a large gusset, a polypost – vertical posts you see on the docks, and cleats if you want extra cleats. Only these cleats will work on our docks. If you want any of these contact Joe Kucharski jlkklk1949@me.com for pricing and ordering.

Reservations

It’s been great to see members signup on the website for reservations of the facilities and a boat. Currently the reservation slots are 4 hours so if you’re back-to-back with another group, your time includes setup and cleanup time. Please everyone be considerate of others as we have some overlap and members can always use the bathroom area. Maybe we can get more flexibility with the reservation in the future. If you have a question about your reservation. Please contact me.

Of Note:

It has been noted that a teen-age child of a member was at the club with a friend, unaccompanied by the adult member. Please remember that minor children should not be at the club without parents. It’s in the bylaws that members agreed to and just makes sense. Thank you.
