We are at the close of the 2021 sailing season and are beginning to plan the 2022 sailing season. 2021 has been a memorable season in many ways. This allowed us to begin putting the restrictions of covid behind us and allowed us to again experience the socialization that is a significant portion of our history of the club. This year we filled every available on the the water slip, reached a membership level of 88 memberships, initiated a fun racing program, had one of the largest if not the largest 4th of July celebrations in the history of the club and completed multiple infrastructure projects.

Yesterday we experienced another historic club event – completing the removal and storage of docks in a single day. Thanks to the organization by Mike Jackson those who participated did a remarkable job work as a team. By noon all dock sections were removed and by 3:30 PM all stern poles were removed and cleaned. A special thanks goes out to the following participants: Steve Bucher, Craig Priebe, Justin Curley, James Hammock, Holly Budreau, Jerry Priddy, Neil Kuhlman, Joe Blalock, Steve Brooks, Steve Scherschel, Mike Pace, Anne Pace, Charlie Earhart, Gary Divine, Glenna Divine, Ray Richards, Albert Fuatavai, Sam Shroyer, Alan Hokenson and Shannon Webb.

We will be looking at social events for 2022 and would like to receive input from members that the board can review for the upcoming season. If you have an idea or would like to lead a group to host an event please contact any board member so that we can create events that are of interest to all members. Below is a list of the board members for 2022 if you you don’f happen to know who they are.

As soon as we complete the month of October we will post a final financial report as well as our budget for 2022.

Thanks to everyone who has made 2021 such a great year and we look forward to 2022. Thanks to everyone for a remarkable effort!

Within the next week we will start to work on our projects for 2022. The first project on our list is to begin the major task of erecting a gin pole. The first step in this project is to design and construct the base to support the pole. The target is to have this step completed by the time the weather turns cold. We will review the condition of the pole and perform any maintenance necessary before raising the pole, The mast for the pole needs to be designed and fabricated and painted prior to the raising of the pole. Finally we will arrange to have the poled raised and put in place. Our hope is to have all of this work completed by launch season. Aside from the gin pole we will be adding 8 additional finger slips to A dock. The docks will be in place by early April. This addition will bring the number of finger docks to 38.
