Just wanted to let everyone know that if you notice three pictures missing from the clubhouse they have not been stolen. We are loaning them to the Prairie Creek Learning Center located in the Prairie Creek office. The scheduled opening is for September 11, 2023 and there is much left to do. The center will have multiple displays ranging from the history of Indiana to native plants and animals. One of the premier displays will be a sailboat that is completely rigged and will be available for visitors to board and raise lower sails. The various parts of the boat, sails and rigging will be identified. The center is looking for old photographs and items that are part of the history of Prairie Creek. They will accept electronic files and can duplicate any old photos and not destroy or key old phots you are willing to share.
Over the next two weeks we will be providing assistance in getting the sailboat rigged and ready for visitors. If anyone one is interested in participating in providing support for the center please contact me. Aside from rigging the sailboat we are providing a hands on knot tying display. If you have ideas for other hands on experiences we can add please let me know. We are hoping that the sailing display will spark interest in future sailors.
