Greetings.
Coming up this Saturday the 20th, plan on attending MSC Italian night. It will be from 5-7p.m with appetizers at 5:00 and dinner at 6:00. You can still sign up to help by clicking here: ITALIAN NIGHT DINNER
— Buon appetito!
We have a lot of sailing books that are available from the estates of Alan Hokenson and Tom Grimes. Nuggets of wisdom and history. They will be in the clubhouse by the lockers. Feel free to put them to your use or give them away.
The $20 fee for kayak winter storage is due by October 14th. If the winter fee is not paid, you will need to remove everything in your bay by October 30. You will retain the same spot next season (even if you don’t utilize winter storage) if your 2026 fees are paid by March 15, 2026.
Fall is around the corner, and our 2025 sailing season will come to an end and planning for next year will begin.
Please note these important dates:
- October 14, 2025 – Payment due for kayak winter storage.
- October 19, 2024 – Annual meeting chili dinner and election of 3 board members & officers
- October 22, 2024 – All boats and trailers removed from club property
- October 25, 2024 – Dock day to remove docks, store club boats, and free flow docks A & B
- October 26, 2024 – Clubhouse officially closed for the season
As you’re pulling boats this season, remember we will likely not have F dock as it is currently assembled as a work barge for the critical B dock work and upcoming dock day. Try to plan your pullout when the wind is favorable. Please do not park on the north side of the upper parking area where the gin pole is used so it’s accessible. If you use the gin pole, remember to inspect the bridle before using (safety) and sign in on the gin pole user sheet. If you find damage to the bridle, contact Joe Kucharski or Steve Scherschel for a replacement.
I hate to bring this up again, but we’ve had some personal life jackets (PFDs) that have been removed/moved from a Kayak space and not returned. Also, paddles were left on the floor and not put away, creating a tripping hazard. Kayak spaces have personal equipment in them. Please respect other people’s property and return any items you may have picked up or moved by mistake. If you have any questions about your assigned spot, please let me or Joe Kucharski know. Do not move to another slot because it’s open.
I hope to see you Saturday.
