The summer seems to has past by quickly and planning for fall events is in motion. The Labor Day barbecue and sail parade was a great event with great participation Having 10 plus boats on the water was a site to be seen and a fun time for all. The pitch in barbecue offered a great collection of food with no one leaving hungry. Thanks to everyone for their participation and the contributions of time and energy to make the day special.

There is an important safety and security notes that need mentioning. As the set up team opened the garage to set up the grill for Labor Day it was quickly noted that that the propane from the one grill was left on and the garage was filled with propane. If you are using the gas grill please make sure that the gas tank is turned off. Fortunately nothing happened but this could have been a serious and destructive event. Also never put the charcoal grill back in the garage with coals the are even warm. We have also found the overhead door to the dock house unlocked multiple times in recent weeks. If you raise the overhead door make sure to lock is set when you close the door. Your cooperation is appreciated.

There are several upcoming events on the calendar. Below is a summary of each event.

October 28, 2023 Dock Day
This year we are only scheduling one day to remove all docks.

During the fall and winter months we will begin constructing the kayak/paddle board storage in the dock house. We are beginning work on the design and will have a better idea of how many kayaks we will be able to accommodate. The initial responses we have received indicates there is significant interest in this project. While one goal is to serve our exiting members the second goal is to increase membership. The fee structure has yet to be determined and it is intended to be reasonable. We are also setting aside one of the carts to allow users to place at least 2 kayaks on the cart an move them to the latch area.

Let’s get out and enjoy the remainder of the season.
