It is hard to believe that the month of December is more than half over and we need to be thinking about spring. At our December board meeting we began formulating our social agenda for the upcoming season and will post a rough schedule to allowing you to plan your season. Right now we have events starting in March and going through October. As always we will be looking for help to execute the plan.

In January we will begin the construction of our indoor kayak/paddle board storage so that will be ready by April 1. A set of rules for kayak/paddle board storage and use has been approved by the board and those will be available on the.website as well as the bulletin board. Any kayak or paddle board launched from the club requires a permit from Prairie Creek Reservoir. The seasonal permit is available through the club for $40 for the season.

The installation of the the gin pole will eliminate multiple parking places in the upper parking lot. During prime launch and haul out periods it will be necessary to keep the area around and under the gin pole clear to allow access. There willl surely be a learning period as we get the first few boats processed. Anyone wishing to use the gin pole will be required to go through a safety training class.

As we continue to plan the upcoming season understanding which members are returning is important to determine revenue. For this reason March 15 has been set as date for dues to be paid by returning members. Returning members who have not paid their dues by March 15 will be an assessed an $25 late fee as has been done in the past.

Part of the planning process is to review dock assignments. In general we do try to keep everyone in the same location as last season but there are times when changes are required. If you have special request please let me or Steve Scherschel know so that we can take that request into consideration.

Hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
